(complete letters & phone #'s available upon request.)

Ileen introduced my pup Rylee to positive reinforcement and clicker training.
Within 5 lessons Rylee learned to sit, stay, down, come, wait, lets go (heel) & shake with amazing success, and I learned
how to deal with puppy habits!  Housebreaking was a cinch with Ileen's suggestions.  Ileen is such fun to work with and
also available by phone for questions anytime.  I would highly recommend Ileen.

WOW!!  Ileen is excellent!!!
She was with me for almost 2 hours (a small part of that at the end was a tour of my sculptures & studio).
She is warm and charming; totally organized and professional; she came with excellently prepared material for reading
after the lesson.  She also came prepared with clickers, treats, and any leashes or leads that might be needed.  She
gave freely of her knowledge and information.  She demonstrated clearly - repeating until the dogs caught on, then
had me take over!  The dogs were doing things I wouldn't have imagined they could learn so quickly.
I love this positive reinforcement method!!
She worked each of my 3 dogs and of course ME.
Really like this woman!!

Ileen came highly recommended to us from Safe Harbor Animal Rescue.  She is extremely patient and provided
us with a wealth of information on new puppy training.  Always arriving promptly we love working with and learning
from her.  We highly recommend Ileen to anyone looking for a wonderful training experience.  She is our
"Dog Whisperer"!

Our family hired Ileen to help out in a most difficult situation, introducing a 7 month old pup into a home with
two adult dogs.  Adding Bella made a recipe for utter chaos.  Ileen was able to bring peace back to the home.  In
addition she worked with me and Bella out in the community where I had been having difficulty controlling her
aggressive behavior with other dogs and people.  With Ileen's guidance, I gained confidence needed to control Bella.
I would highly recommend Ileen to anyone who needs a caring, knowledgeable trainer.

Make training your pet in minutes - not hours, fast - fun & easy, NATURALLY!!
Training your dog should be an enjoyable experience for you both.  The more you understand how your dog; thinks and learns, the more effectively you can communicate.  Clear communication means successful training and good behavior - with no force or coercion!!

The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) has released a statement on the importance of Group classes.

Puppy guidelines, available at www.avsabonline.org, state that puppies can start group socialization/training classes as early as 8-10 weeks of age.  They should have received 1-2 sets of vaccines and a first deworming seven days prior to the first class.  Pets should not show signs of illness                                               during the class and should be kept up-to-date on vaccines throughout the class.

Puppies go through a short period of socialization when they are able to benefit from exposure to social opportunities.  It is critical that the owner get the puppy out to meet other animals and people and experience many different environments.  Missing out on this unique window of opportunity may cause the puppy to develop                            fear of unfamiliar people, animals, and environments, this may later develop into problem behaviors for the owner….

All puppies & most dogs will

 benefit from "well-run" group classes.

SEE MORE INFORMATION BELOW ON GROUP - TRAINING CLASS.

NO BONES ABOUT IT!!
DOGS ARE BORN PROBLEM SOLVERS AND LIKE OTHER ANIMALS WORKING FOR THEIR FOOD AND OTHER LIFE REWARDS SHOULD BE PART OF THEIR DAILY ROUTINE, NATURALLY!!

WHAT IS POSITIVE TRAINING??
Positive Training is using dog-friendly, non-violent methods.
Positive dog-trainers do not use pain, force, or the threat of force.
Positive dog-trainers use modern training methods based on proven scientific principles.
Positive trainers work very hard to strengthen the relationship between owner and pet.
Positive trainers DO use food and other rewards as motivators, because IT WORKS!!
Positive training is FAST, FUN & EASY naturally!!

SIT HAPPENS
Sitting on cue is one of those basic behaviors that every dog should know.  It is such a simple behavior to teach, because, the dog already knows how to do it.  Our job is to put it on cue so it is done when we ask.  Here is where we really see the difference between positive & compulsion training.  Compulsion trainers spend a considerable amount of time teaching owners how to force their dogs by pushing, pulling & jerking various doggy body parts.  While positive trainers get sit after sit after sit,  Magic???  Not so, just trainers using the positive reinforcement element of operant conditioning, a technique that teaches a dog to voluntarily offer the behavior we want when we ask for it.. naturally!!

THE IMPORTANCE OF PUPPY SOCIALIZATION!!
Professional groups including the Assoc. of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) believe that the profound advantages of early socialization far outweigh the minimal risk of illness.
Socialize your puppy by introducing him/her to a broad range of new experiences, people, environments and activities.  Positive exposure to a wide variety of new experiences result in a dog that easily adjusts to new things throughout his/her life..   Many enlightened Veterinarians now strongly encourage their clients to enroll in puppy classes and other controlled socializing activities as long as the puppy has been given at least two sets of vaccinations.  A well-socialized dog is more secure, confident and easier to live with.. Naturally!!

CLICKER-TRAINING
Clicker training is not someone's new gimmick or special method.  Clicker training is dog trainers' slang for a positive reinforcement training method based on operant conditioning.
Using a clear-cut mechanical sound (marker), signals to the dog "you were right" and a reward is on the way, this speeds up the learning and strangely enough removes stress.  You can also use the word "YES" as a back-up reward marker or a "mouth-click," the click of a ballpoint pen, or any other short, consistent and distinctive word or sound, for those times when you do not have a clicker with you.
This method makes the experience more fun for the dog and owner too.. NATURALLY!!
WANT TO LEARN MORE??? Call Ileen for a lesson on clicker-training. (Boca, Boynton, Delray, Lake Worth, Wellington & Palm Beach).

roommates, spouses, etc.

"When Pigs Fly", by Jane Killion - Training success with impossible dogs.

           MULTI-DOG HOUSEHOLDS
LIVING WITH MULTIPLE DOGS CAN BE A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR  ALL.  HOWEVER, AS THE HUMAN MEMBER OF THE CLAN YOU MUST LEARN TO READ & UNDERSTAND THEIR LANGUAGE, AND THEY YOURS!   I WILL HELP YOU READ YOUR DOGS BODY-LANGUAGE & INTENTIONS, TEACH YOU THE COMMON TRIGGERS THAT MIGHT CAUSE CHAOS & HOW TO PREVENT THEM, NATURALLY!!

                      DID YOU KNOW???
A BASIC RULE OF SCIENCE-BASED TRAINING ALLOWS US TO PREDICT THAT REINFORCING GOOD BEHAVIORS TURNS REPETITIONS INTO HABITS!!
